Our Geographical Area

The Park District lies adjacent to the Town Centre of Weymouth, the beach and seafront, and the Boroughs main transport interchanges, the Park District area of the Borough is predominantly made up of both Victorian and Edwardian housing, the majority of which have no front or rear garden space. Many of the dwellings are being used as multiple occupancy accommodation, creating a substantial transient population.

The Park District area has no significant public open space leaving the Children of the area little alternative, but to play in the street.

The Community Forums constitutional area encompasses approx 2000 local residents; however our Community centre and many of our activities and events are marketed to the residents of the Borough of Weymouth and Portland approx 65,000 people.

The Melcombe Regis area is listed within the top 10% most deprived areas in the Country.
