Partners and Community Together PACT brings together residents, the Waterside Forum, council, police and other bodies working in the area to tackle the issues that most matter. Through the summer, PACT aims to reduce unlawful drug use, remove graffiti in public places, counter noise pollution from local pubs and clean-up alleys affected by fly-tipping. Over the past three months, Park residents have provided information on drug dealing to the police, pushed to introduce covert cameras to monitor littering, encouraged new employment initiatives in the area and liaised with pubs to reduce underage drinking. Recorded crime levels are down by half. CCTV cameras are now operating on Brunswick Terrace to reduce drunken behaviour on the beach, and several arrests made in a crackdown on graffiti. Residents can now have their say on the issues that most matter through the summer and into autumn. Make your views known at the next public meeting: 7.00 pm, Monday 23 July at the Park Community Centre.
